Abstract

The research analyzes forms of epistemic resistance in the works of Zora Hurston, Carolina Maria de Jesus and Conceição Evaristo. These authors transform experiences of inequality into literary practices that articulate memory, body and language. The concept of ‘escrevivência’, intersectionality (race, class, and gender) along with orature, reveal writing as an answer to historical silencing. Thus, the research is grounded in the idea that, by writing about themselves and the world, these black women construct meanings that escape the dominant logic, manifested in their works as living practices of cultural resistance.
