Abstract

Alejandro Jodorowsky’s work guides the viewer through journeys of self-discovery and spiritual transformation, using surreal settings and deep symbolism. His films, like El Topo and The Holy Mountain, subvert cinematic conventions and explore wandering as a metaphor for search and discovery. Inspired by psychogeography and surrealists, Jodorowsky employs intuitive exploration of spaces to challenge everyday perception, creating a cinematic experience that reveals the unconscious and reimagines urban and symbolic environments. This study examines how his narratives and aesthetics foster a deeper understanding of human experience.
