Abstract

Hundreds of thousands of female hands are the basis for the reproduction of the worker for capitalism through the performance of an activity: domestic work. Within this context, this research aims to explore the historical portrait of domestic work in Brazil and understand the movement's experience of struggle in the National Constituent Assembly (ANC) from the analysis of articulations and discourses demanded by social actors considering the policy that crossed the national and international context. This investigation is justified because it goes through central points such as the coloniality of power, racial and gender relations, issues that shape democracy and the tensions of the social fabric.
