Abstract

This article presents the human social (and sexual) relationships between Portuguese-Brazilian settlers and Native American peoples during the colonial period (in the 17th and 18th centuries). It also presents the intense "mixture of races" and peoples that would produce the different human types of this space (white, Indian, black, brown, goats, etc.), which would be the basis for the formation of mestizo populations of what in the century XX would be called “northeast of Brazil”.
