Abstract

This article offers a comparative analysis of Silvio Almeida’s and Muniz Sodré’s approaches to contemporary racism in Brazil, focusing on the concepts of structural racism and social form. It argues that, despite significant conceptual divergences, both perspectives provide complementary critical insights into the institutional, ideological, and affective dynamics of racism. The article concludes by proposing a theoretical articulation that recognizes both the struggle within political-legal structures and the antiracist potential embedded in the realm of affect and sensibility.
