Abstract

This article has as its object conflicts and tensions generated in the expropriation of land for the implementation of the Railroad of Baturité – EFB, in Ceará, 1878-1879. The analysis examines the social structure that permeates the laws and regulations that make up the establishment of public and private interests in the demarcation of railways in Brazil.
